Vitiligo on the Joints

Vitiligo on the Joints – Hands, Feet, Knees, Elbows,

Vitiligo Treatment is very involved in the Vitiligo Community, and offers free support and consultations from our websites in the USA, Australia, and South Africa.

We receive assessments from Vitiligo patients all over the world. One of the topics that arises is the fact that Vitiligo first appears on a ‘Joint Area’ of the body. Therefore we would like to discuss this subject further.

A Joint area is defined as an area of the body where the skin is under constant movement, and if you are naturally predisposed to Vitiligo, you will probably find that your first sighting of Vitiligo would be seen on one of these areas.

The skin on these areas, normally the hands, feet, knees, elbows, are constantly under ‘movement trauma’, and this causes tiny skin lacerations that ultimately lose pigmentation, (Vitiligo) and may very well start spreading to other parts of your body.

Sometimes only one area of the body is affected, and this is common in localised Vitiligo. This can be seen in cases where the patient has a recent or old injury to the knee for example. Vitiligo may develop on this joint area, and remain localised to that area for the rest of your life or until treated.

Treating a joint area where the skin is thicker does take longer than an area where your skin is thinner and not under that constant movement.

While treating these areas we need to stop the further spread of the Vitiligo, and this is done with the Vitilox Vitamins. The Vitilox Pigmentation Cream is used to help restore your natural skin pigmentation again.

Cases where the patient has a family history of Vitiligo are more difficult to slow or stop the spread. In these cases the Vitilox PMF Capsules are then recommended as opposed to the Vitamins.
